How the concept evolved: As a motivational speaker, coach, and consultant, Grant Holmes has been involved with many types of businesses from retail to manufacturing as a real working manager, really responsible for real people and the results produced. Grant also spent many years in theater in dramatic, musical and comedic roles. Once, while Grant was participating in a Murder Mystery Theater he realized...well here it is in his words;

"One night as I was in character, a patron was busy teasing my character about a clue. That's what people at Murder Mysteries do, they figure out who done it. Well, as the entire table sat there enjoying the banter, I suddenly realized that the entire audience comes in wanting to have fun, they want to be teased, and they want someone to take them some place far, far away from their regular spot on this earth (if only mentally; if only for a short time). They wanted to go to a Speak-Easy in Chicago, or to a bus stop in Nevada, or ANYPLACE other than where they worked or lived! They were dying for a release.. Dying? Murder Mystery?! They were dying for a release from the every day!

It was then I realized the power that a character can have and how differently an audience will interact, or react, to and with a character. It frees the persons mind, and it opens them up to new ideas. It allows them to playfully imagine. And it is amazing how much more a character can say than a regular person."
